xx/xx/78circa '78 mystery tape
& larry klein, circa '78 mystery tape, venue unknown, source: sbd cassette, jerry moore's copy, lineage: sbd>?>cassette (see notes), nak dragon>hd-p2 24/96>cd wave>adobe audition 2.0 16/44.1>flac, transferred & seeded by rob berger 11/27/09, one disc: 39:53, 01 - mountains of the moon, 02 - talking money tree, 03 - friend of the devil, 04 - china cat sunflower, 05 - rum runners, 06 - ballad of buddy holly, 07 - what's become of the baby, 08 - lady of carlisle>, 09 - terrapin station>, 10 - jack o' roses, notes: another choice nugget from the collection of jerry moore. this tape was labeled simply "hunter demo". the only, information that we could come up with is that this tape was, sent by hunter's management to venues/promoters to advance, gigs in 1978. it would seem that all tracks are from the same show - whatever it is, it's a good soundboard of a great set., guessed lineage is sbd reel master>cassette>cassette., hunter1978-xx-xxd1t01.flac:122924A  ***

(sharon mcneese is not on vocals to my knowledge)., nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. if i'm wrong, please advise & i'll take the offending trax offline., coolsonics 119 ::: thanks to the original taper & trader! ::: corrections welcome ::: another one for barker! an oft enjoyed, excellently played comfort performance. there are some songs so perfect it's astounding & played by so many fine musicians. larry klein shines as usual & there are super multi-part harmonies. if you love this stuff, you'll get chills up yer spine & a warm glow of satisfaction. i always found it one of the great mysteries this guy wasn't huge, even though his songwriting was. a killer setlist to boot. to think there was a time we would have killed to have a perfect soundboard of the the "alligator moon suite", now thanks to jerry moore & others, we get to pick which one to "pull off the shelf" (if you still do shelves)., more recordings on the way, making up for years of slow netspeed. kudos to zongo for life support, lochner for mikes & much more, & to fast freddie for runnin' video dick's record emporium with the bathroom office full of tape decks. thanks to hanwaker (few among us can keep his pace) for over 30 years of trading & friendship. mountains of gratitude to davmar, d.white, sanchez, elliot, the florida kid, kloiber, zingg, jtw, bershaw, boston gold, weeks, dixon, moore, gough & so many more for all that collecting & sharing... royal thanks to the man in the palace, doc tinker, brinkhoffs, barely eatin', reel master gaule, parrish & all the traders who housed me thru my music acquisition & travel years. hats off to brother kent, uncle jake, little queenie (& her neighbor frank) & his honor ptomaine thomas. glasses raised to byron for musical horizon expansion & much obliged to j & thurston for keepin' my concert fires burnin' since my continental shift. thanks to the mods for keepin' dime alive. enjoy, share, give, spread peace. yers truly, knees, support the artist! but if you are looking at this, you probably already have & do!, do whatever you want with it except sell it, 'cause that ain't cool!119131A  ***
